Animated Overlay File Types & Uses

APNG - "Animated PNG" - This is a file that can be used with transparency as an overlay. Currently, Snappic VideoFX can use this file type.

MP4 Alpha/Overlay - This is a new file type (HEVC) that can be used with transparency. Snappic VideoFX, Touchpix, Curator Live use this.

MOV HEVC Alpha/Overlay - This is a new file type (HEVC) that can be used with transparency. Lumabooth uses this file type.
- MOV - This is a transparent file type used in Windows based softwares. This will be a large file size (usually 100 MB - 2GB).

MP4 Mask - This is a two-file setup. This allows for transparency without using any special codecs and conversions. File 1. Overlay.mp4 - What you see. File two - Mask.mp4 is the black and white version of the overlay. What is black will be transparent. Snappic currently allows this.

MP4 Background. This is a file you can use with either a green screen or AI segmentation.
- PNG Sequence - Photo Booth Side - Great for Photo, Boomerang, and GIF. Most photo booth software allows for this.
** Warning this file type is not for VideoFX, CuratorLive, or most 360 booth apps. To have this converted will have an edit fee added.**
- APNG: Snappic
- MP4 Alpha/Overlay (HEVC): Snappic, Curator Live, Lumabooth, Breeze for iPad, Touchpix
- MOV HEVC Alpha/Overlay: Lumabooth
- MOV: Dzen Tech, SelfieBox 96
- MP4 Mask: Snappic
- MP4 Background: Majority of softwares including windows based.
- PNG Sequences: Snappic, Curator (Old app), Darkroom Booth for Windows, Breeze
